Progress, indeed. Calling the dock/laptop thing "ultra-thin" is a bit of a mis-nomer; it looks about twice as thick as a MacBook Air, which is a full computer (sans optical drive, of course).
However, the basic concept of having some sort of dock that creates expanded interface quality for your pocket-sized device is great. I would have liked to see the dock to the side of the larger screen to enable a dual-screen mode, but that's not significant.
Simplicity is best. I don't want to "synch" -- I want one computer that can talk to all my peripherals, and my peripherals can be keyboards and screens and projectors and etc. --
I'm close with my current phone. HTC EVO 4G, 32GB storage (a thousand times more than my first hard drive), 4.3" screen that's more than twice the resolution than my first color monitor, processor that's hundreds of times faster than my first computer ... all in 6 ounces. Really nice piece of gear. Not what I *want* ... but boy, it's sure easy to settle for ...
I can't say I'm impressed with this. But really, all public terminals should be able to wirelessly communicated with your phone - you just show up, log in and go. Requiring a special laptop to do this is so not going to catch on.

Have you seen the Mozilla Seabird concept? I would buy that right now if it was a real product.
